WelcomeThis portfolio will detail what I have learned through my work in the TILT (Teachers Integrating and Learning Technology) program, how I have used that in my classroom, and how I am sharing this knowledge with others.
The My Learning section talks about what I have learned, and the Kids' Learning highlights projects we have implemented in our classroom and student learning that was accomplished. You will also find links to my classroom blog and the Beartooth Elementary site (which I maintain). The Sharing section will highlight ways I have collaborated with my former teaching partner and our current Librarian/Media Specialist, Mrs. Huck, to share what we have learned with other teachers in our building. Love this!
About MeHi! My name is Traci Piltz, and I am a kindergarten teacher at Beartooth Elementary School in Billings, MT. I am excited to be a part of the TILT program to help enhance my use of technology in the classroom in meaningful and engaging ways. I also look forward to finding fun opportunities to share what I learn with my colleagues!

Tech Websites I Love to UseKidblogI think if I had to choose a favorite tool to share, it would be Kidblog. Using Kidblog has allowed my students to share what they are creating with me, with their families, and with other classrooms around the country. It has evolved into a personal digital portfolio for each student. It is amazing for me to look at their growth, and check up on areas that still need some work. It provides parents with a window into our classroom, and it gives students connections to other classes when we read and comment on one another's blogs. I absolutely love using Kidblog in my classroom! (If you want to view the kids' posts on our blog, click this link and login as "Guest" using the password: abc).
GrantsMy goal is to equip my classroom with the technology necessary for our room to be an innovative learning environment for the students. In order to achieve this goal, I am seeking grant funding. I have used the following sources:

Thank you KTVQ & First Interstate Bank!
We were thrilled to receive a One Class at a Time Grant from KTVQ and First Interstate Bank! The funds will be used to supplement the iPads we already have in our classroom by purchasing apps and accessories, as well as an AppleTV. (The kindergartners just really liked their new pencils.)
I am keeping a list of items purchased with grant funds, for anyone interested. Click here to view the list.
